SMBA Administrator Young-sub Joo attended the opening ceremony, participated in festival programs, and met with local merchants
□ On April 29 (Saturday) at 15:00, the Opening Ceremony of the 1st Traditional Market Spring Festival was held at Namun Market in Suwon, a historical, traditional market created during the Joseon Period by King Jeongjo, the 22nd king of the Joseon Dynasty.
 
◦ Administrator Young-sub Joo of the Small and Medium Business Administration of Korea (SMBA) expressed hope that the festival will act as a momentum to transform traditional markets into attractive shopping spaces.
 
◦ Administrator Joo also encouraged families to include visits to traditional markets in their trips or outings during the May holidays to enjoy the fragrance of spring.
 
□ The Spring Festival showcases the unique colors and themes of traditional markets for two weeks from April 29 (Friday) to May 14 (Sunday).
 
◦ During the festival, around 200 traditional markets will offer performances, activities, prize events, and special discounts, bringing together shopping and culture into a truly enjoyable experience.
 
◦ In particular, the 16 provincial and regional hub markets offer a wider choice of programs packed with essential contents.

□ After the opening ceremony, Administrator Joo visited the 28 Youth Mall Free Market stores and food trucks to support young merchants and listen to their stories.
 
◦ The Administrator also participated in festival programs, including the “Robocar Poli” Tour. He also played traditional games with families with children visiting the market to make special memoriefs.
